Why walk?

Walking is a great form of physical activity, where you will reap the health benefits of being active. If you’re not used to exercise or you don’t like participating in sporting activities, walking is a great way to get fit and healthy. It doesn’t require any special skills, expertise or equipment and is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and meet new friends.

What are instructor-led health walks?

Fitness for Life organises and runs 15 instructor-led health walks across the borough on a weekly basis. Each one is led by instructors qualified to include additional exercises to challenge your physical fitness and develop strength and conditioning.

Can I go on an instructor-led walk?

Anyone over the age of 18 can attend the Fitness for Life instructor-led walks. The walks are graded for their difficulty and so accessible to anyone who may be feeling particularly out of shape.

Do I have to book?

No just turn up, come rain or shine!

How much does it cost?

Walks cost £2.50, payable on the day, or you can purchase 10 walks for £17.50 or £14.50 if you are over the age of 60 (proof of eligibility is required).
